[Trans] Tohoshinki & Kara, Japan Record Awards “Outstanding Song Award”


Popular groups Tohoshinki and Kara have been confirmed as winners of the “Outstanding Song Award” for the 53rd Japan Record Awards, which rounds up the music entertainment world in the past year.

According to the list of nominees and winners in various categories revealed on November 19 by the organizers of this award, the Japan Composers’ Association, in the outstanding 1o songs which are nominees for the Daesang, Tohoshinki’s “Why? (Keep Your Head Down)” and Kara’s “Go Go Summer!”, together with AKB48′s “Flying Get”, Nishino Kana’s “Esperanza” and AAA’s “Call” etc were all on the list.

Girl group 2NE1 has been chosen for the “Best New Artiste Award” category together with Ito Miyu, SUPER☆GiRLS, and Fairies. On the day of the award ceremony, they will be competing for the “Most Outstanding Rookie Award”.

This award ceremony will be broadcast live on TBS on December 30 at 6.30 pm JST. On that day, the Japan Record Award for the “Best Artiste” and “Most Outstanding New Artiste” will be revealed.

Last year, popular girl group SNSD was one of the 4 “Best New Artistes”, while popular group Big Bang was one out of the 10 winners of the “Outstanding Song Award”.

[Note: to clarify, Tohoshinki has already WON the Outstanding Song Award along with 9 other artistes, and all these 10 artistes will then go on to compete for the Japan Record Award.]
